Title: ATT: Nick and Fiero Members Post by: JetJumper on September 11, 2003, 12:43:30 pm For an Addon to the site, we should see if we can find a JAVA Chat program (NON-IRC Based) and put it up so people can talk real time :)
Just a thought, Anyone else Think this is a good Idea? Title: Re:ATT: Nick and Fiero Members Post by: WillEV on September 11, 2003, 12:47:35 pm sounds like a good idea
Title: Re:ATT: Nick and Fiero Members Post by: Gizmo on September 11, 2003, 12:49:13 pm Non-IRC based...whats the fun in that, or you mean like our own little private room where we can talk rumours ;D
Title: Re:ATT: Nick and Fiero Members Post by: JetJumper on September 11, 2003, 12:51:16 pm no, non-IRC based cause some work locations block IRC based ports so it won't connect... What I am thinking is a Java Based one that is realtime and not like what they have at www.chat-house.com (I think thats the site)
Title: Re:ATT: Nick and Fiero Members Post by: FieroBUZZ on September 11, 2003, 12:53:24 pm There's always that spinchat thing that Cliff uses at PFF.
It's a good idea, tho. Title: Re:ATT: Nick and Fiero Members Post by: Gizmo on September 11, 2003, 12:53:59 pm Looks like you have some time on your hands right now, I'm sure you could find something.
Title: Re:ATT: Nick and Fiero Members Post by: JetJumper on September 11, 2003, 12:56:04 pm I am looking :) Just put it out there for other people to maybe look to or if they knew something :)
First class today isn't till 2:00 so I got lots of time :) Title: Re:ATT: Nick and Fiero Members Post by: dguy on September 11, 2003, 01:01:43 pm Just please don't use the word "chat" in any URL. Seriously.
Not only to they have IRC ports blocked here, but web-filtering software picks up on certain keywords within URLs. "Chat" is one of them. Not that I would do something other than what I'm paid to do while at work, no..... ::) Heck the silly buggers even have anything vaguely related to ICQ blocked. I get lovely little red X's where the ICQ flower would be when reading posts. Funny though, I managed to figure out how to get ICQ to dodge their proxy server. Nyah! Nyah! ;D |
