The guy said 300.00 iffy and 500.00 if he gets it running (w/guaranty). The motor looks VERY clean and well taken care of, 189K on the clock. For $500 I'd talk him into it, whats that "crap" worth to them anyways. See if he'll do it for less even!
But seriously, before getting it, I'd want to hear it running. Let it warm up and check it over well, cold and warm pressures, sounds from inside.....compression.....you know, the usual ;D And if you don't go for it, lmk! I thought you had one of the newer ones.......??? no? there is a difference between the 'first gen' and the later ones as I am sure you know; not only in electronics but mechanically as well. and yours (if I am remembering right) likely has more potential. I expect you have seen Michael Smith's pages etc; he used a later model (96 maybe?) and got about 260hp at the rear wheels eventually (without turbo!!) anyway; I have far GREATER .... um.... challenges without adding another engine to my list of "to- dos" LOL and maybe start crying....... oh well If you DO NOT go for it keep me posted. I would guess you could pick it up for a song if you are willing to take it out yourself maybe? |
