I think you're right though--it's probably easiest just to count the number of turns from lock-to-lock. Title: Re:Rack it up! AFAIK, the 3.0 unit was only found on GTs and the '84 Indy, but I'm not sure on the Indy... The 3.5 unit is found on all other models.
