Well it time to retire the wife car!!!!!dameit………….. it as a 3,8 engine it what is one going to do with it ?????? I may just have to remove before I junk it *LOL* I would appreciate any info on a 3.8 S..one swap I have a 2.5 in it now 4sp/econo trany I also need a auto trany for it the one in the care is slipping :DEmail:fierobel@sympatico.com Title: Re:ENG SWAP INFO NEED Post by: FieroBUZZ on November 08, 2003, 12:56:01 pm Marcel, here are some of the things you'll need. Some are from your donor some must be found elsewhere, made or reworked.
3.8 motor ;) tranny the same as your donor. 4T60, 4T60E, etc. wiring harness (Fiero and donor) ecm (donor) v-6 rad with auto tranny cooler fuel pump engine/tranny mounts linkage and shift mechanism for auto adapt fuel and coolant lines exhaust system (keep the first foot or so of pipe from the manifold) lots of little things. I understand it is NOT necessary to totally dismantle your car ;D to do this. Ed's on Dwyer Hill has some older 3.8 which may cough up a suitable tranny. If you decide not to and are getting rid of your wife's car, I may be interested. I have another car on the way. I don't know how rotten it may be underneath, but it may do for a swap like this. engine swaps may not be one of them....... Is this purple thing Eric's? Seems I have converted a few over to our side in the last while.
My wife has the opposite complaint seems I take way too long then she doesn't see me again for days. Thank god for locks on garage doors and she wanted me to put an intercom out there. Dan |
