Title: L67 Alternator
Post by: dguy on March 19, 2004, 10:28:27 am
Food for thought for those who don't like the idea of hacking up their RH decklid hinge.

If you think it's worth $150 US that is.   ::)

I prefer to use old A/C compressor mounts modded to fit the alternator on the other lower side. Better clearance of exhaust and easier access from bottom. Have a home made idler set up I put on that side to aid belt routing due to lack of power steering pump.

I thought that's what you were doing now, but I couldn't remember.

Assuming however that one wants to keep the A/C compressor, and not hack up the hinge like a Thanksgiving turkey, what then?  Can the alternator be relocated to the no longer needed power steering pump's location and leave it at that?

That looks like placing the alternator where the a/c compressor would go.  Didn't read my follow-up, didja?  ;)

Tried to view the video but it buffering badly. Any way you can make it so that I can save it to my hard drive so that I can view it?

Same problem here.  Right-click on the link, and select "save as..." from the menu which pops up.
