Title: Equivalent Parts listing from other cars Post by: fiero308 on May 11, 2004, 01:27:54 pm I have slowly been compiling a list for equivalent parts from other cars that reportedly THAT IS A BIG WORD, PAY ATTENTION will fit our little cars.
I don't have any confirmation but maybe there are resources to confirm this. I have added info from Ebay, Pennocks and all kinds of other sources regarding this includind outright heresay. No promises but this is worth a look I think. If people are interested pls email me and I'll send what I have. This list SHOULD become a community project; I am sure there is a TON of stuff that can be added. NOTE that there are 'special provisions' liberally sprinkled thru-out - so check them. Generally this list has things like windshield wiper motors, power window motors, headlight bushings, blower motors, CV shafts, Door Lock actuators, Turn Signal Stalks/Arms, etc. There is even one for doing a mod to make Toyota wheels fit (must turn out the centre hole). They are NOT all in one file so if you can be specific that might help. Let me know And maybe we can all put in our 2 cents??????? If you want to send me stuff I can check it for you. I have learned that the manual is not always correct some things work that it says doesn't with slight mods.
Title: Re: Equivalent Parts listing from other cars Post by: fiero308 on May 11, 2004, 11:00:48 pm hi Dan
that would be a great resource; I will have to remember that. A lot of this is from items that were listed for sale and it also included 'all the cars it would fit'..... A lot of what I have is for newer years, so between the two of us (and whatever others add in) we should cover a lot of parts. Some of the parts supposedly work in cars right up to 2000 and maybe newer. Depends on the exact item, but that should also make it easier to find in a junkyard. Thx!! gp |
