Title: Long time no start Post by: poupas on July 27, 2004, 08:09:16 pm I will probably be picking up a 2.8 '86 on Mon.. It has sat for some time from what I have heard. I want to replace the starter(its starter is shot), and try to turn it over. Is there any precautions I should take before I do this? Drain a little old oil and add some new? Add something to the fuel? Completely take apart the motor and rebuild it....ha....

Pull fuel pump fuse, leave ignition coil wire off and pull spark plugs then crank till I get oil pressure then connect coil wire, instal fuel pump fuse and new spark plugs then try to start. Dan
