Title: Steering column intermediate shaft Post by: dguy on August 22, 2004, 07:13:04 am I finally found the source of a rattle in my steering column... ::)
Does anyone know if these are repairable or rebuildable? Title: Re: Steering column intermediate shaft Post by: mr.tourismo on August 22, 2004, 10:35:09 pm i find them a PAIN to remove, today about 3 hours to remove the front suspension and after failing that we moved to remove the rackand pinion for like 1- 2 hours before leaving it there for the tow truck driver to pick up tomorrow. ::)

Title: Re: Steering column intermediate shaft Post by: 2ML67 on August 23, 2004, 09:25:47 am I would replace it there are lots still in wreckers and not that hard to remove, I usually leave them attached to the racks when I pull them. Remember it is a collapsable sleeve to save your chest in the case of a head on collision. If you can't get another I have a good one on my spare rack. Dan
Title: Re: Steering column intermediate shaft Post by: poupas on August 23, 2004, 04:27:50 pm I should have one of those lying around. The rack I got from Dan had one on it, and mine was still good(I think).I will be going to pick up my fiero this weekend down in Brockville so I can bring that back up with me, unless my brother threw it out(which he probably hasnt). There may be a little bit of surface rust on it due to being outside for a month. I can show it to you anyway and you can decide if you want it. Unless of course you already have another. Maybe I can get you to look at my old rack as well.
