Title: Help ID a pigtail on an 86 Duke
Post by: dguy on October 10, 2004, 08:35:31 am
The red connector in the pics to follow...

It's located in the head, on the side facing the firewall, near what I believe to be the ECM coolant temperature sensor.  Nothing within reach without a plug which looks like it should have one.   ???

I'm not sure, but just to clarify; is that a dark green and a light green or is it something else?  the light coloured wire is a bit hard to tell.
My factory manual is for an 85 so I don't want to assume it is the same for your 86.

Dark green with a white stripe, and light green with a black stripe, and I mistakenly said that it was next to the CTS when I should have said "fan switch."  It also shares the same loom as the connector for the fan switch.

Someone on PFF thought that it might be the connector for the short-lived two-speed fan systems which the 84's with A/C had, and Haynes seems to confirm that.  Wired for both systems I guess, which I find curious given that it's an 86 yet only the 84's had the two-speed system, and a vastly wiring harness.   :-\

I believe that is the connector for the cooling fan sensor. Although I am more familiar with the V6.
