Got any photos of it yet which shows the entire instrument pod?  I've never actually seen the "fit and finish" of one--everyone seems to take photos of them in the dark and all lit up for some reason.  ;)

At least now the fenchie will know exactly how fast he is going when that VW comes along to kick his but again. This time try not to blow up the engine, it is ok for you to loose to a VW we won't think any less of you, actually i do not think it is possible to think any less of you. there is hope though as you are now associating with the english people so you may become a man after all.
If any one is looking for one of those gauge pods I have two one from a Cavalier and one from a Beretta. I was thinking about doing one but didn't want frenchie to accuse me of copying him. This picking on the frenchie is fun almost as much fun as picking on Gary or derek. Dan

I really like to look of the digital dash but not the colour. If you can some how make it all red, that would be great!  8)

Same here, actually.  From the appearance of the instrument panels though, I'd hazard a guess that they're vacuum flourescents.  Back-lit LCD would be one thing, but the only way to have a VFD re-colored as far as I know is to re-manufacture it.

It's not possible to change the color

MAybe a thin film of the proper color over the side would work? Who went to art school, what color  blended with it's current configuration would give us red?   ???

It took a while but I finally found the time to pull out the Cavalier dash and put power to it. The mileage is 164,731 miles or for us Canadians (Are french people still considered Canadians) it is 265,111 km. Dan

I wonder if anyone has ever tried powering up one of those panels, and pumping the VSS input with a signal generator?

I imagine that there's a point where the odometer would roll over, then all one would have to do is continue to advance it until it reaches the desired value.  It might take a while, but...   :-\

I found a place in the state that will rollback the cluster for 210$  :o

For $210 I would just ignore the mileage on the cluster. Get a sticker made up with the mileage that your Fiero cluster had when replaced and the mileage of the Cavalier one so that the actual mileage of the car can be figured out easily.
