If anyone happens to stumble across a T3/T4 Turbo let me know, also a intercooler, 1st gen DSM BOV, and Wastegate

are you going to do this?  I have been studying a bit because it is in my plans too.  Exhaust routing is a major issue.  At least doing it right is........
What engine is going to be the subject?

the only reason I'm staying way from the turbo is the fuel map.. installing the turbo can really be easy. Just do it slow, right and don't cut corners.

the fuel map scares me tho.. you would need to make your own maps and I would strongly recomend a mixture gauge on the dash. When it goes read, turn off the engine! :P

I'm in no hurry, since the car won't be here till spring, so I have time to look into it, there is quite a bit on info on the Grand Am\Prix forum so  there is info to work from, I would prefer to Supercharge, but havn't looked at any options yet

what size engine are you going to be doing this to?
I might have something of interest....... depends on if it is the right size for yours.  Not in a big hurry to sell at the moment, either.
By the way, how goes the job thing?  (wishing you luck....)

One of the local boards has something about a turbo for sale.  I think it's for an Integra.  If it sounds interesting LMK and I'll try to find it again.  I stumbled on it while surfing and didn't really pay attention.

i guess my 2 cents worth on the turbo/super issue, and why I am picking the turbo.
No question that the 3800 SC package is very convenient for swapping; I have given it extensive thought myself and it is a good performance package,.......... (here comes the 'but') BUT
you didn't see any formula one cars going to supercharging in the late 80's when they briefely allowed 1.5 litre forced induction engines.....  That is most of my argument right there. 8)
One of the big issues:
A roots-type supercharger is generally about 50-55% efficient overall compared to a turbo charger that can reach about 75% efficiency.  (I get my numbers from turbo books)  That difference in efficiency manifests itself as added heat to the same air quantity; that is, for two similar-sized units moving the same amount of air, the supercharged air will be almost 50% hotter than the turbo unit's discharge air temperature. That has to be considered, and either the boost must be limited, air gets routed thru an intercooler or you wil have detonation in the combustions chamber.
There are problems with the turbo, of course, but that is part of the challenge and intrigue for me. And maybe I will never get it running, either, but I am learning, and time will tell.

Here is my .02  ;) When and where?  8)

Both are awesome setups and one is not better than the other. it the one that is best suited for the driver.

F1 did not go supercharged because everyone is used to driving a turbo.

Why i got SC instead of turbo?
A: When I stomp on it at the line, I want it to take off like a batt outta hell. :P  I don't have time for spooling. in most cases, your at the next light by the time your turbo is spooled up.

b: I DON'T WANT TO KILL MYSELF! I've driven a grand national. EEEK! When the turbo spools up and goes it kicks you like friggen NOS! now immagine that in a corner.. Yikes!

C: Turbo is much harder in a clutch.. (if you drive it right) you need to keep the turbo spooled and have to ride the clutch between shifts.

D: I hate the sound of a blowoff valve... (that one is just personal, but I can't stand a little neon with a blowoff valve louder then the engine... )

But that is because of my taste and driving style.

Turbo is mean only for smaller displacement engines. (that is why dragsters can't use them.. :(  They deliver good pressure, but not as much MASS of air.
