Title: Cruise feeler
Post by: dguy on September 24, 2007, 10:13:41 am
Hi folks...

Would there be any interest in a little cruise next fall, say down to Tupper Lake for lunch & back?

I spent a good chunk of yesterday driving through Adirondack Park, and was impressed with just about everything.  Once I cleared Ogdensburg there were plenty of smooth, rolling twisties, and awesome scenery.

I know we have similar local facilities, but the Black Donald Mts (Calabogie & area) suffer from crappy pavement; Gatineau Park has a sunday-strolling speed limit and the QC gestapo.  Adirondack Park has neither, and a near un-broken speed limit of 88km/h.  I spent most of the day running between 100 and 110 without so much as a hint of lovin' from the state troopers.

There are also a variety of scenic pull-offs through the park, where it would be easy to set up a nice group shot or individual photos.

A tour in to the middle of the park & back, including lunch, fuel, & photo stops could be done in a comfortable 8 hours.  Probably about a 500km cruise.

Any thoughts?

Hey Duckie...  any opinion on what Algonquin Park would be like for something similar but a little closer to home?  I've never been up there...
