Title: New Shift Boot and Knob Post by: CKappa on September 26, 2007, 01:48:06 am So i bought a new shift knob and shift boot and before I put them on i was wondering if they make aftermarket short shifters or do i just chop it all off

If you have access to a welder, it's easy to shorten the original shaft & re-attach it to the base. Not to mention that cutting off the old threaded end & welding on a bolt with more common diameter & thread pitch will make fitting aftermarket knobs easier.
