Title: Car Sales Scams
Post by: FieroBUZZ on February 11, 2009, 05:56:00 pm
Going through the local Kijiji.com site. Today is particularly bad, with dozens of short ads. Nice cars with ridiculously low prices.
Answered one for a nice restored 1965 Austin Healey 3000. Probably valued at about 25,000 pounds.  Asking $5,000. Ad reads 'Must sell today'

My answer:

I buy you car.  I send cheque for 150,000.00 You can deduct your costs and send me the rest with the car.
Do not worry about fraud. I use ebay and am a prince.

See if I get a reply.

Yep - saw one last week on several Kijiji sites in Ontario.

1969 Camoro - pics of a mint/mint blue and white RS, all original etc for $3900 - looked like it would actually bring something north of $60,000 at a Barret Jackson auto.

Sellers story was - moved to California, car is in Halifax, selling for husband but she will pay shipping if you put $3900 in escrow with ebay or something like that.

If a deal looks too good to be true - it is!
