Title: Gas Tank Q's Post by: FieroBUZZ on December 20, 2009, 07:43:08 am How easy should the float in the tank move up and down?
I have 2 tanks out at the moment. One is very nice outside, one is covered with surface (I hope) rust. I took the lines, and pumps out yesterday. The inside of the nice one unfortunately, is coated with surface rust from about halfway up to the top. This one was in my SE. The lines outside the tank are great, inside the tank rusty. Sucks to be me. :o My 'spare' tank is rusty outside so I always shoved it around the yard. Of course, the interior turned out to be pristine. The lines for this one are beautiful inside and rusty outside the tank. Anyhow, the float on one is quite stiff and the guage always reads full. The other one the float moves easily when pushed, but is not 'floppy'. I am assuming that is too stiff. Anyone had the insides derusted with success? Any comments welcome.
