Post by: grandam455 on January 29, 2012, 05:36:11 pm I started the car Saturday let run for 1/2 hour put in reverse and you could just feel it engage but when i put into drive hit pretty hard.Checked the fluid it was fine put back in reverse and rev. up and hardly moved,drive took off,modulator valve?or just needs more time to warm up first time i moved it since September 2nd. To make sure put in into each gear a couple times and check the manual for the proper level check procedure. Some transmissions have to be checked with motor running and in neutral, others cold with engine off.

Post by: grandam455 on January 30, 2012, 07:35:18 pm Checked fluid in park with engine running same thing today almost no reverse but in drive hits pretty hard was not like this in summer,tranny seem to engage pretty hard either way. modulator valve controlled shifts?? "old school thinking"This weekend hope to drive it on the backroads to warm up trans.
Title: Re: Auto Trans. Post by: grandam455 on February 17, 2012, 09:28:57 pm I put lucas trans fluid 1 pint ran engine for a 30 min. and it kick in to reverse took it for a quick drive and ran not bad, smile from ear to ear thanks aaron for advice.
