Title: Ontario-legal S/S brake lines? Post by: fiero308 on March 10, 2003, 10:04:08 am just wondered if anyone has info on stainless flexible brake lines for the street that would be approved for a safety check in ON? (would prefer to get just ONE set)
I believe it is only recently that they became legal (or at least SOME of them) in the states, and I am not sure if that means ALL states, either. Any input anyone? Post by: fiero308 on March 10, 2003, 01:22:33 pm yeah, I was in to see these guys in Sept, I think it was; they are pretty busy with big things; v8's and custom suspensions and major projects; but they did seem to be interested in helping out with anything, even small stuff; I will be going down to see them and I think there are two other shops in the same area that I will be visiting as well. WHEN this workload is done!!! arrghh
:P :P :P anyway, lack of coolant is a real serious issue; Fords went for decades with really really low oil pressure and it didn't seem to be a big deal, so you don't necessarily need 60psi oil pressure, BUT coolant! It's gotta be there. anyway, good luck with it ....... when the snow goes. Maybe it will stay so cold that we will be putting cardboard in front of our rads......... lol ;) Title: Re:Ontario-legal S/S brake lines? Post by: fiero308 on March 12, 2003, 12:01:24 am just checked with my mechanic friend and he said they will pass only if they were available as oriiginal equipt altho a lot of places don't mind as long as they are MANUFACTURED items; not the type where you buy the hose and the ends separately and put them together.
He will be safety-ing my car so I expect they will be ok...... ;) ;) ;) along with all the other goodies. Title: Re:Ontario-legal S/S brake lines? Post by: 34FieroGT on March 12, 2003, 11:52:40 am I believe that the reason SS braided flex hoses are not road-legal is because you cannot inspect the rubber part of the hose for cracks and what-not. Other than that, it's only illegal if you get caught... ;D
