Title: lebaron brakes Post by: fiero308 on April 24, 2003, 08:17:36 am ok
after even MORE (is it possible??? ::) ) prevaricating I have finally decided to go ahead with the Lebaron brake upgrade rather than the Beretta or the more expensive 12" Corvette. Evaluations are so subjective it is hard to read into them, but I THINK the Lebaron will give me the braking I am after (lots of PFF time invested here...) Sooooo has anyone here done this or seen it or assisted in it? If not, I will take pics and keep records if anyone is interested. I am basically following the Walt Zettner prescription but will be trying to source things locally as much as possible. The cadillac rear calipers are going to be a bit of a challenge (to find for cores) but we will see. So anyone interested let me know and I will try to pay particular attention to the details that interest them. Going to order the brake parts today and new wheels and tires this afternoon. Here we go! (more $$$$$!!!!) ;D Title: Re:lebaron brakes Post by: fiero308 on April 28, 2003, 08:56:29 am just an update:
the 80-85 cadillac rear calipers are the same as for an 80-84 Riviera, if anyone is looking for some. Checked the casting numbers and they are the same. I am still fiddling with S10 spindles and a few other variables but will get that sorted out before posting a whole bunch of false starts and miscellaneous thoughts here. Will keep pix and a record. Looks to be interesting. Stay tuned.... ::) Title: Re:lebaron brakes Post by: FieroBUZZ on April 28, 2003, 07:31:14 pm Just a side note to state the obvious. Most places have no idea what the grimy core in the box is. Unless you are not willing to send a wrong core back, just chuck any old caliper in.
