Title: IAC CONTROL/ECM/CAT CONV??? Post by: fiero1 on May 06, 2003, 08:57:24 am The idling on my GT has been unstable since i purchased it almost 4 years ago so this year i decided to replace the IAC while it's in the shop well this was my plan before i got reading on how it works in relation with the ECM & CAT CONV.According to the spec i have been reading on start up the ECM measures the emisson temperature before it sets the proper idle rpm but my thing is my GT has no CAT CONV the prevoius owner removed it so now im wondering if it's worth the while to go ahead & replace the IAC ??? ???

Title: Re:IAC CONTROL/ECM/CAT CONV??? Post by: fiero1 on May 12, 2003, 10:31:17 am :) :)Got my car back from the shop last week got a few things done to it including the cooling system.Had to change the sending unit & the thermostat got the air removed from the system & it seems ever since that the idling is is nearly no longer an issue before that it dind't matter hot or cold it would idle around between 1000 RPM & 1100 RPM now the temperature is stable compare to last year.Last year it would run as low as 50c to as high as 105c in traffic now it stays in between these 2 temperatures & went hot it now idles between 7 & 800 rpm.Would anyone have any info if this is a normal rpm for a 2.8 :-\
