Title: now the fun REALLY starts..
Post by: fiero308 on May 08, 2003, 04:22:06 pm
I have just become the proud owner of a 3.4 twin cam with getrag 284 5 spd trans, computer and wiring harness and everything else..........  cry for me as I need pity....... 8)
alright, so it is still in the car, but it is mine.  I PREFER to do my own wire tracing and marking and will be able to take my time, too, so that is a nice bonus.
Tyler, are you watching?  hello?
 ;D

No pity from me!  You knew what you were getting yourself into!  ;D  I may have to swing by your place sometime soon and check this out...

well........ here is how SAD I am  ;D ;D ;D
any more self-pity and I would need DEPENDS!  ........ eewwwww...
bad joke.
don't rush on coming by just yet; the car isn't here (by design) and never will be; I am going to do this 'by the numbers' literally and trace and tag EVERYthing and actually be sensible and logical about this.  (Doesn't THAT sound impressive?????)
But yes; I am pretty excited and pleased with myself at finding this combo.  More details to follow.
Brakes are coming nicely; getting the coil-overs into place is getting close but all that has to wait until I pick up some stuff in TO on monday/tuesday (insignificant things like S/S lines, new springs and upper control arm bushings.....)
......... coming along but it is still immobile............
 ;)

You should try:

   www.suspension.com

for the bushings.  You'll probably get a better price there than anywhere else.  I ordered a complete set of poly suspension bushings and my cradle bushings from them last spring.  The price was much better than the Fiero Store's, and I received them within a week.

actually I was pretty surprised by some of the Toronto stores prices; I am doing the front end and it was cheap and in stock so will get those and the cradle bushings same thing (will get poly for now - till the GREAT engine swap happens! ;) )
I am looking at Held Motorsports who have just changed hands - somebody LEE owns it now it seems; for a complete rear bumpsteer setup; it isn't priced too bad I think and that takes care of the rear end.
THEN I can start thinking of engines and turbochargers and vroom vroom noises.
but first, today, I get my OTHER front spindle back... so that saga can continue.  (Had to take a brief break to do some paying work again  :D)
So monday I will get a bunch of my stuff and SAT I get to go and start taking nuts and bolts off my 'new' engine!!!!  The fun continues!!!! ;D
