Title: Re:SHIFT PROBLEMS!! Post by: FieroDough on June 18, 2003, 10:16:28 am Hummm.. linkage out of adjustment?

Title: Re:SHIFT PROBLEMS!! Post by: Sentinel on June 18, 2003, 06:14:27 pm Reverse is fine, and fluid is fine, I notice the enginge got warm real fast(coolant temp fine) just by going around the block. When I start it cold I'm ok for about half a block. Then whenever the clutch is released all the way starts bucking like a sonofa.... same in second, I can limp home by riding the hell out of the clutch. The revs also jump around like mad. O2 sensor? coil? vaccuum?I'm just not too familar with the 3.1 engines and getting Fiero withdrawl something fierce........grumble, cuss word, sonofa mother,.......
also the clutch is brand new Title: Re:SHIFT PROBLEMS!! Post by: Fieroflyer on June 18, 2003, 09:05:17 pm Am hoping to be in Ottawa some time this weekend will let you know for sure when I know. Then will take a look at her for you. Dan
Title: Re:SHIFT PROBLEMS!! Post by: dguy on June 19, 2003, 08:13:09 am In other words, she idles ok, but will barely run when under load?
Title: Re:SHIFT PROBLEMS!! Post by: FieroDough on June 19, 2003, 11:54:08 am that is a sign of running lean....
Title: Re:SHIFT PROBLEMS!! Post by: Sentinel on June 19, 2003, 07:29:42 pm yea the engine runs like a dream, as soon as there is load it gets all crazy, if you've every had your torque conver lock up, something like that except quite a bit more harsh bucking, I've head the Pilot bushing mentioned(noooooo).
Eric, yea that's what I was thinking, but not sure if that's just from having to keep the revs so high to get around the block, when idling it doesn't get warmer faster or anything so my guess would be elec. it's ok, but we know my recent history on diagnosing Fiero's..... Geez the service Dan gives.... now if I could only get that from Ford(HA yeah right) Don't go out of your way Dan, but if your around it would be appreciated, let me know. Title: Re:SHIFT PROBLEMS!! Personally the first thing I would go after is the fuel system, starting with the filter, then check out the fuel pump itself, all of the connections, p'raps even going as far as to check out the shraeder (sp?) valve on the fuel rail and the injectors themselves. Other opinions may vary of course. ;) Hope this helps! Title: Re:SHIFT PROBLEMS!!
