Title: opinions please Post by: fiero308 on July 22, 2003, 05:44:34 pm ok ok so it is still light years (they haven't recognized the term "light-lifetimes" yet) away from completion or even running BUT I do have to decide what wheels I might go for; has to do with offsets etc etc.
So what does everyone think of these ones? I guess it would all depend on cost, if you have them why not use them. Just until something better comes along. :)

Title: Re:opinions please Post by: fiero308 on July 23, 2003, 12:08:34 pm right at the moment I am thinking of having these for autocross and lapping days; they are 16x9 1/2" wide monsters (all round! :o ) so would give me a pretty good footprint on a twisty shorter track when I can afford to have the suspension set hard (not worried about scrubbing) and don't really care what they look like. I have also bought a set of 5 spoked wheels that I am getting refinished; they are 16x8's so will take a more moderate tire; probably 225's up front and 255's in the rear and will allow for a bit more suspension movement over bumps and driveways etc.
But I was pretty surprised how the wheels suddenly made the car a 'vette' as you have said; (red; sorta same lines; similar tail lights etc etc) we'll see once i get the other rims bead blasted. ??? |
