Title: Looking for Brake Info - supplier and machining
Post by: 87se_fiero on July 25, 2003, 10:05:55 pm
OK now that I have this great exhaust from Karl it's time to take the Fiero out of the garage and get on with that &^%$$ emissions testing! But it's been sitting for quite a while and the brakes are noisy and squishy and it looks like they need to be serviced. I'm thinking of attempting it myself, having only seen it done a few times. Would you have suggestions for some good places to get brake parts. The calipers in the front should still be OK but I will likely need to have the rotors machined (or replace them) and replace the pads. Any suggestions for some good places to get the rotors machined? What I'm thinking is that if I screw up with the brakes myself then I can get it all looked after in one shot when I take it to the garage to get the exhaust installed ;) Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks. Etienne.

If all you're after are as-good-as stock parts, try Canadian Tire.

Odds are that they won't have anything in stock, but if you don't mind waiting a couple of days their prices generally aren't through the roof.

...and they will turn rotors if you bring 'em in loose.

If you need to replace your rear rotors, rumour has it that the front rotors from a early 90's Cavalier are a perfect fit on the Fiero rear, and are much less expensive.
