Merger or hangout?

Hey guys,
I was wondering.... Anyone think it would be a good ideat to merge our club with the J-Body club? JCO? at least in the east?
I know there are some weird politics they have to deal with that we just don't care for. (in club bitching and all) but the east guys are pretty cool and don't seem to have those problems.
the cars (especially second gen J's) are VERY similar to the Fiero and have lots of interchangable parts...
Greater number of members makes every one win all around.
Just figure I'd throw that in the air since the J is discontinued as of 2005, that makes them have that much more in common with the Fiero.
Cheers!
Eric

I am always interested in the ways other clubs work and the information that they can supply. We can always have a contingent to send to their club but I would still like to see us as a specific club with our common goals being paramount.
BTW; Have we decided on a place for the meeting on the 7th. Someone call it or it wil have to go to the default location

Whether it’s a good idea or not can only be told in hindsight.

How are things going, Aaron? You're starting to sound like Yoda.
The j-bod guys seem to have a lot of internal bickering. May be just the view from the outside.

Yoda speaks backwards. It makes better cense that the way we speak. He speaks first general then more specific. But it sure sounds weird, and will likely never be accepted. The general idea is to say a lot with very few words.
For example, my previous post could have been written: “The idea, fate shall determine”

I second the motion.
Outback on bank and Huntclub
How about a third to make it "official".

No decision-making from me on the location I'm afraid. I'm still not sure if I can make it or not.
As for a merger with the J-body club? I'd prefer not. I have no problem with dropping in on each others' events once in a while, but to me a Fiero is a relatively unique little car. The only thing that it shares with Cavaliers & Sunfires, is how many wheels it has.
I'm not sure what you meant by them having something in common, Eric. Care to explain further?
The only similarity I can see (and it's a vague one) is that the Fieros were discontinued after four or so years of production, and the J-bodies will most likely be discontinued after the 2005 model year.
I like the focus of the group we have here now, even if there are lulls in activity at times.

There _IS_ alot of internal bickering... ESPECIALLY in Toronto.. But the club leasder here in Ottawa (Luc) is really good. There is little to no bickering in Ottawa and they do their own thing. Participation is awesome, big numbers here in the region.
Maybe I made it sound wrong. i don't mean to lose the Fiero club and just join them. NEVER. But sorta meet with them and participate in the same events. After all, our machines are cousins.
cheers!
Eric

I don't mind going to place d'orleans on wednesdays or bank and heron on sundays to hang with jco.
I say Le Skratch, the four members at the last meet liked it there.

ok meeting will be Outback, Bank and Huntclub Feb 7th
Now I'm deadset against merging with another club, I like having a place that's Fiero's only, just feel many owner take enough flack about them it's great having somewhere to be with other owners who get "it". I want the club to remain that way. If folks are interested they can always join the J-Body club.
Now there is no reason why we can't establish a partnership of some sort with them or any other club for that matter,be it joint meetings(that means together, not getting all baked)events ect, I began working on getting some things setup with other clubs last year, but I have not done much in regards to this in months.
