A little distressed.
Finishing my Fiero/Ferrari replica engine swap. Installed a 2001 3800SC, everything is done right. Had Fast Fieros in Texas do the computer programming (highly recommended) he used a computer out of a 97 ... it turns out that lately he's been shipping a bad batch of glitchy programmed computers.
Dan has done the wiring and it looks like I've got one of the bad ones!!
I'm not expecting any freeby's... just looking for a local (Toronto/Quebec... I'm in Ottawa, cars in Belleville) programmer who can do the job right and soon!!
Dan's a very cool guy, but I don't want to over stay my welcome and tie up his garage and time indefinitely.
Please help!

Brian; obvious so I hesitate to ask but is there not any support/warranty etc from fast fieros?
If they realize it they might appreciate the chance to set things right..........?
no?

Problem is that it took forever to get the thing from him in the first place... Dan had to send one back to him for the same problem and I think we're now talking months with still no sign of it.
I think you know what I'm talking about when I say that in building this car I've gotten used to having to buy two of everything. It's sad but I've learned just to shrug after being ripped off and just grin and bear it. What keeps me going is knowing that I'm only days away from driving it home!!!  This has been a heavy year for mods on the car. I mean, going from five and a half inch spacers with crumbling wheel bearings to Held's wide track susp and Carrera coilovers. Swapping the 2.8 with 3spd auto to a 3.8SC and 5spd manual....... I can hardly wait.
Hell, I can't even sleep at night thinking about it! lol. Until I have it repainted I still won't park next to you or Sandy though!!
Thanks for the interest Graeme, I know you were interested in seeing how the suspension turned out.            Brian.

yeah, don't get me wrong everybody... we all have our problems, this is definitely not a perfect industry we're dealing with. I just hate to come here and bash anybody. For sure I feel like I've been screwed a few times.... I'm sure there are those who think that I've screwed them.... (Sandy, I'm staying calm!!... lol), I just want to put it all out of mind.... not out of memory, incase there's a next time, and bring my car home!!

For sure Graeme, if anybody's interested in hearing some of my build  stories I'll gather a few pics and post them.

By the way, it looks like it's a go for tomorrow. I've got a guy (who'll remain nameless until Thursday when it's finished) driving to Dan's place to work out my computer bugs. Yeah, it's costing a fortune and yeah the car has now cost me close to what a used 355 would........ okay, maybe not quite... but getting there.

Hi blutes, I see everthing went ok, the car runs well. I've worked with they for for several years, he's good but yes his work doe's not come cheep. I use him and he uses me, we both learn from each other. I'm glad you were able to get your car running.

Yeah, things have finally turned out great!
Dan has gone above and beyond the call of duty on this one. He's had a brutal time redoing and fixing all of the mistakes made by the "other" guy. His two week job has turned into a month long marathon. He's also a stickler for the details... everything finally looks factory.

Yeah, it was also cool of Kevin to take the time to drive from Toronto to Belleville and fix yet another "glitch" in the system. I'd had Lloyde from Fast Fieros program the computer for me, but rather than sending it back and waiting for it I figured I'd bite the bullet and pay Kevin to fix it......... it was a pretty big bullet to bite though, but at least it's done right now.

And now there are just a few details to take care of... I'm sure Dan's looking forward to getting it out of his garage and getting on to other projects. But, I have to say he's one of the few truly "honest" guys that I've come across in this business and has loads of integrety. Honestly, the car was going on ebay until he came along.

Hi blutes

I went to see Dan a few weeks ago (drop my wiring harness), and I saw your car in the garage.  I also meet you at the garage where you had you engine installed!! (You were taking your car to Dan that day).  I just want to let you know, that my car will be totally done by Dan, and yes I fully agree what you said about Dan

"I have to say he's one of the few truly "honest" guys that I've come across in this business and has loads of integrity”

Dan as been helping me a lot with all my question/email Afro!!

Like I have said many times before --- you won' find a better 3800 install and at a reasonable price anywhere in Ontario (dare I say Canada) than with Dn
