if you hit a bump and the car bounces more than the girl in your signature does, you might want to replace the shocks.

Worn out shocks or struts will
accelerate the wear of other $u$pen$ion component$;
increase the risk of buggering up your wheel alignment if you take a good bump;
make controlling the car harder than necessary, especially under hard braking or cornering.

That can be very distracting for the driver I would get those shocks fixed. Here is the Fiero version of that. Kevin
