To make life easier for everyone, please follow these simple rules when advertising your car:

  • Location, location, location.  A street address isn't necessary, but something more targeted than "North America" would be nice.   Wink
  • Price.  You must include an asking price with your ad.  If you're not sure what a reasonable amount to ask would be, try starting a "How much is my car worth" -type thread over in General Chat and folks will almost definitely help you out.
  • Contact information.  Don't be silly and ask that interested buyers contact you via e-mail, if you have your profile set up to hide your e-mail address.  Also please note that even if you request e-mail or telephone contact, interested buyers may reply to your thread or attempt to contact you via Personal Message.  Failure to log in and check for replies to your ad or for personal messages may result in a lost sale.
  • Tell us about your car.  At minimum, please mention the year, body style, and approximate mileage.  Keep in mind however that "more is better".  Has it been modified?  If it's subject to Ontario e-tests, when was the last time it passed?  etc.

The author of an ad which does not respect these rules, can expect to recieve a friendly request to modify their post.  Failure to correct an ad in a reasonable amount of time when requested, will result in the ad's deletion.  Sorry, but you can't just click-and-run here.  Smiley

edited to add: Please do not be insulted if in response to an ad, you receive an offer which you feel is "low-balling" you.  Never forget that something which may look like gold to you, may look like pyrite to somebody else.
