Is it just me or are these motors extremely loud with no exhaust attached. Oh well I guess I better bolt on some exhaust so I can take this thing out on the street to play. Does any one know, I have checked around but haven't found a gasket available for the exhaust where the down  pipe bolts up to the manifold. Other than that only a few small non engine related things left to do. Than look out here I come. Also trying to decide if I should use the aftermarket side ground effects I have or leave the body stock. Dan

Can't wait to see it.

I'm pondering a side ground effects that would look good, I think there is a M3 kit for Honda Civics, the side rocker panels look good on a Fiero, I was also thinking ones from a Z24 Cav(89-90 style ) may look good as well.

BTW I replaced the thermostat today, fixed the overheat prob right up, though what a tight squeeze to get in there, hope I don't have to do that too often.

Glad to hear that fixed it. When I built her I was told by many to use the new fail safe thermostats and how they can't fail closed well they were wrong thats two for two the one in the car and the one in my van. They seem to last about a year than fail. From now on I use the factory style. It is a tight little spot alright and thats factory not just when installed in Fiero's for that motor. On my 3800SC it looks a lot easier to change. Hope thats it for problems, I know I enjoyed driving her with no problems and hope she's also good for you. Although I think this one I've built now might be a bit faster than yours. As for the ground effects I have I do not know who made them a buddy of mine gave them to me. Dan

On my S I, there is a do-nut on the manifold end and the down pipe is flared to fit over it.  Kind of like the fit between the manifold and crossover pipe.

I don't know about Series II but my early version is very quiet at the moment.  Cry

I ended up going with the failsafe one again, the one one looked fine, but most still look fine even after.

I really need to get my ass in gear and get that safety done, really getting tired sitting and looking at it, just itching to take it for a rip.

Now I had a thought, you know how the RPM's fluctuate when it's warm(that cpu looking for what gear it's in) would there be an easy way to terminate that connection to fool the CPU that it'll see it's in Neutral all the time, I'll look into it more, but just thought I'd ask if you had an idea off the top of your head, think I may have to go Tyler on it and start playing with the CPU now.
