I drove the red smoothie to Mt Tremblant to watch the Vintage car races on Sunday. A great day for top-down motoring!

It was also the first long drive I've taken in the car. Most of the drive was really great, we left Westboro at 7:00am and found the roads to be really empty. Without pushing things we got to the track just before 9:00am.

The only fly in the ointment was the stretch of hwy 323 between Lac des Plages & the next village: it is really bumpy and the big trucks have pressed ruts into the road.  245-50 tires on 7x15 wheels don't realy like those ruts, The car would want to wander whenever we got into one of the ruts. Also the lowered, stiffer springs were a little too much for the deteriorated road & so the ride over that stuff was kinda choppy. I don't know what 45 - 35 section tires would have been like OUCH! - UNK!

Sounds like a great time.

I am a little jealous, though.  Where did you find 245.50.15's?  They seem to be totally unavailable.  Huh

I have a cottage in Ste Agathe and use rt:323 often! Those speedbumps are the sh!ts! But heh, if your ass is sore, try 275-40-17's. Quebec roads suck! You just have to exit Ontario on the 417 to Mtrl and you end up launching the car -airbourne- over the frigging expansion joints of a bridge not a mile into Quebec! My suspension has twice broken from 'pothole city'! (Mtrl). argh!

hi Sandy
we took that 'logging road' for a wknd getaway and needed to recover by the time we got there.  No fun.
Just curious tho; when you say your suspension broke....... what exactly, or was it different things?  I am working on mine and want to give extra consideration to anything that might be a bit of a weak link....
TIA

Thanks Will, that's the only brand I could find in that size.  No one has them and they seem to be backordered everywhere with no delivery date in sight.
