Looks like I have to take those SOBS to court! ARGH!

Just less then a year ago, I bough some coil overs for the Sunfire there. I never installed them and returned them the next day. They told me their police was to not give cash back, but they would issue an in store credit... $250.00!

LAter on I decided to take the car in for tinting... They told me there was some welding spots on my rear window and they could not do the job properly. They even suggested I throw a brick through the window and my insurance would cover it. The window is fine... some mist from paint I guess, I used a solvant to clean it, all is good now.. So no tint from DERAND!

I figured I would get a cold air intake from them to at least use up the credit.. They recomended the ICE MAN intake.. I asked if it was a true cold air intake. The sales man said with a name like ICE MAN what do you think? and he stared at me like i'm some idiot... I picked up the ordered intake a week later.. Guess what?? FAWKING WARM AIR INTAKE MADE OF P.O.S. PLASTIC! ARGH! NO INTAKE FROM DERAND...

Today, almost a year from the original credit, (witch by the way expires within a year... ) I decided  I need to use up this credit. So I wanted to pickup supplies for my business.. I sent my wife to get some blackout paint for the tailllights... Well she showed them the receipt... They claim I kept the intake! and that they do not owe me any money! WTF?!?!?! So she argued with them for an hour.. They finally gave her the paint and told her I have to call tomorrow to settle this! The guy who sold me the intake, name is SCOTT claims I did leave with the intake, when in fact the chick that works the counter there opened the box for me and I refused it on the spot!

Now to make things better, the customer service.... My wife asks if they have any detailing products  in store. They asked her what she needed, she said she wasn't sure, just wanted to see what they had for the business.. They told her: "Go home, tell your husband to make up his mind and he can come here when he figures it out" Ok that fawking did it! My wife ain't dumb when it comes to cars and that was dissrespectful!.

So if tomorrow I don't have my CASH in my HANDS I am forking out the $50.00 to take them to court, and even IF i do manage to lose, I will trash any reputation they might still have.

Ok.. I need to go have a beer, I'm incredibly pissed.. I can beleive the customer service and attitude over there.

PS: The Derand sticker on my Fiero is going to be the victim of a sacrifice ritual...

I also had problems with them.
Ordered under car lights a couple of years ago for my daughters birthday. I made reservations to put them in as she had to travel from North Bay. I paid for them as it was a colour that they did not have in. FIRST MISTAKE.
Daughter arrives and we bring the vehile to them on saturday and we go shopping. We come back 3 hours later and the mechanic didnt make it into work that day. After hounding them to get a refund on my master card. I walk out. 2 months later and no credit on my card. I call the bank and they tell me to go to the business. I go there and get the ring-around. Days later I threaten them with court action, (brought down the court paper not filed in and give it to them).  and finally get the refund credited to my account. I already had the form it is just that they did not submit the original to the credit card company. What pisses me off most was the the credit card company would not honour the recept that was in my hand and I would have had to take both them and durand to the court.

Thanks for the info and the TIP! I'm making a list of customers that they screwed around so that I can demonstrate their reputation to the courts. I will get the papers to present to them.

I had a similar problem with the Derand when they were in Orleans.  I went to buy dash speakers, I paid for a pair that they had on display but did not have in stock.  I was to be called within 5 days to let me know when I could pick them up.  A week later I decide to call them to figure what the he-- is going on.  The guy who answered the phone was very rude and told me they were on back-order and they should be in within a couple of days.  I waited paitently for a week before going in person and having to fight with them for my money back because they still weren't in and the people there had no idea when they would come in.  All in all I must have argued with them for a good hour before they credited my credit card.  Never again have I returned there.
