Need to "borrow" a tow vehicle for a day...???

well the plan to go get my extra parts car is on hold due to ....'problems' with the tow vehicle. As in I don't trust it, to be blunt.
So.............
I asked U-Haul what their rate was and it was something like 30 cents per kilometer!!!! for a pickup truck!!!!!!

As I am going to peterboro and back that is prohibitive. (The U-Haul lady agreed...)

So I am hoping someone on the forum has a tow vehicle; pickup truck etc; with a hitch who is willing to rent it for a bit more reasonable price than that.  I guess it would help to be in the Ottawa area......

I would need it for only one day, during the workday; I would be there and back I think in that time and am a very experienced driver. My schedule is quite flexible; I  could do this almost any day to suit your sched.  I know this is a shot in the dark but right now I am stuck.

If you can give me a week or so to put my Astro van back together I could meet you in Peterborough and we could get a trailer there to get your toy back to Ottawa. I have used the car transporter from U-haul many times with my van. Dan

wow Dan you are trying for sainthood, aren't you.
What a trooper. I am going to try to begborrowsteal a pickup somewhere so I am hoping that something closer and less inconvenient (for you!!) will come up - don't change your sched on the van fixup; I am hopeful I will find something in the meantime.
