Got vacuum. Want boost.

« on: August 28, 2005, 12:02:11 pm »

Has anyone ever come across either an electronic or paper list of specs for gas charged lift supports?  I'm looking for details such as extended & compressed length, the type of end fittings, and the supported weight.

CTC once had such a book in a couple of their stores, but recently moved to computer-only application lists which does SFA for someone looking for a custom application.

Can't seem to find anything other than year/make/model-based catalogs online either...   Roll Eyes

We have them here at work.  They come in 12" or 18" extended lengths and have a gas pressure of 30, 60, 90 or 120 lb.  I'll see if I can find specs. for you.

Thanks.   Afro

I'm looking for one which is 12" extended, 8.25" or less compressed; I'm flexible on the end fittings, but would ultimately prefer ball-studs.

Undecided on the pressure requirements until I can dust off a few cranial cobwebs in the force applied through a lever department.   Embarrassed

The 12" shocks have 4 1/4" of travel and all have ball studs.  The length of the shocks are measured from center to center of the ball studs not the total lenth.

Damn, that sounds ideal.

I'm guessing that Seagrave doesn't sell parts over-the-counter to just anyone though.  Smiley  Can you dig up the name of the manufacturer & part numbers for the 90 & 120lb versions please?

Yes they do.

I'll contact the parts guy and try to get a sell price.

Not bad...  should I ask for anyone in particular when I call, or...  ?

...and do I owe you a comission for all the leg work?  Smiley

No comission and just walk in, we have lots in stock all the time...well baybe call me to see if we have the lb rating you want first.  But we should have it in stock.

Ask for Steve or the parts counter.
