So I got back on the 6 from Gagetown ( For those of you who don't know I shipped off to Basic training in Aug and just finished it like 2 weeks ago) and My mechanic successfully found me a near mint condition Fiero crank never been welded just sitting on a shelf in a shop in Toronto. He checked it out and its practically brand new. So I took my whole short block to the shop over by the car quest on Star Top and Peter took a look at it all. My pistons and cam are fine but I am gonna get a few little things that would just be smart at this point. ie rings and seals. He still has to measure the chambers because there is a ridge inside there. Hopefully its not a problem or else Im looking at oversizing. So if all goes well he is gonna re assemble my short block for me and I will pick it up sometime in the spring/ summer. Peter is a great mechanic if anyone is looking for a trustworthy guy to do precision work. He has an entire machine shop full of equipment to get the job done and he's been doing it probably for like 30 years. I would not just trust this job to any one. I have worked with him for like 2 years regarding different components on my cars and he's just really honest and sincere about what he does. Trez Rare. So I'm gonna wait to hear back what he thinks of the block itself and once we get going I'll let you guys know in a few months how things turn out. Best part about it is he has all the machines to load and test the engine which is perfect because I was really worried I would be going in blind not really knowing if my engine was good until i basically installed it and turned the key. This way I have much more peace of mind. Tis the season for good cheer and a merry one to all of you. Smiley I hope santa is good to you and your Fieros Smiley

Cheers, Dime

I think I'm going to check this mechanic out.  I haven't been able to recommend a guy to anyone for 15 years now.  Unfortunately there just aren't that many guys out there that aren't in it for the money.

Is it the "commercial tire" or another place?

How's your potty mouth now that your back?

Your only limitations are set from within, by a lack of vision.  But to have vision alone leaves the process idle.  Ergo, without action your thoughts are worthless.
