First, get your mind out of the gutter.   Grin

Second, does anyone reasonably local have a pneumatic ratchet or other appropriate device for removing O2 sensors, and about 15 minutes to share?

I can get a 22mm combo wrench or slotted socket on the thing easily enough from above or below, but can't get enough leverage to budge it due to the proximity of other components.   Angry  I'd like to get it changed out, and get my flippin' e-test out of the way before it's salting season...

Some people just do not get it. Replacing sensor hard swapping in 3800SC easy.
Or you could always use a big wrench as pneumatic wratchets don't have the torque for it and an impact won't fit in there. Hope I have been of assistance to you.
On another note more than a dozen extremely hard drives and axleshaft still holding. Dan

Not enough oomph from a pneumatic ratchet, eh?  Nuts.  I tried a combo wrench from every conceiveable angle last night, and from both below and above the flats on the sensor conveniently do not line up with the flats on the wrench.  Even if I use the 12-pt end.   Cry

Come to think of it I would probably have room to swing a wrench/ratchet from below, if the exhaust plumbing wasn't in the way.  Should have removed O2 sensor BEFORE installing new cat.  Bad Don, bad!  :banging head on desk:

Nice!  That's the Fiero's axle & CV-joint guts with the GTP's CV cup, or did I miss something?

Changed mine a month ago. Just used an oxy/acet torch to get it soft red hot and a hacksaw to shorten the box end wrench and it came out sweet as you please.

Really now!  Hmmm...  you wouldn't happen to own the said torch, would you?  Wink

I found a way to get a socket on the flippin' thing from the passenger side of the car last night, but combined engine heat, propylene torch, and burnt hand-induced adrenaline wasn't enough for me to break it free...

o2 sensors are a pain to change.

I had to attack mine from the underside.... after a lot of dicking around over 2 days I FINALLY got it unstuck!

I have no pneumatic tools...sorry bro!

There's where I'm going at it from as well.  From underneath the passenger side, with every 3/8" drive extension I own snapped together.  Doing that just leaves enough room to turn a ratchet handle or breaker bar.

No prob.  A kind soul has offered up the loan of their acetylene torch, so GoFast85's method above is going to get a test.  Smiley
