they are trying to make a point.  they base gun regulations on whether a gun has a carrying handle,  pistol grip, flash hider, bayonete lug.    so why is a gun more dangerous cause it has a carrying handle?  so this guy is trying to make fun of this.  hes saying a car should be banned cause its a two seater or has the engine in the back.  both laws are stupid.  if someone kills someone with a gun or  purposely kills someone with a car they should both go to jail for 25 years.  why ban a car or rifle for cosmetic stuff?

The ranting of the citizen posted at the above link somehow doesn’t surprise me.  Everyone is entitled to there opinion and we do have freedom of speech in this and many other countries.  What does concern me however, is the number of supporters that this individual (or group) may drum up.

The one comfort that puts me at ease here is that people such as Mr. Kish don’t often posses the drive, experience or likely the intelligence to become a political power that may decide to implement such a ban.  The outright lack of though that went into his rant demonstrates the ignorance that many people have to basic human behaviour.

Most obviously; if the fastest of the cars were removed from the road, what would remain would be cars that are then the next fastest on the road but don’t handle near as well as the banned cars.  It is obvious that in order to correct the problem, it is the human behaviour behind the act that must be addressed.  Not by force but willingly, suppressed by the individual, in question.  Society is on a dangerous path to self satisfaction, and it is this that must be addressed not the subsequent behaviour spawned by the desire (usually for money or power).

However; this is a very lengthy discussion that I’m not about to get into and don’t fully understand myself.  But one thing that is certain is that it will not be solved here or by anyone without the power to do so.  Having said that, I retire from this discussion.

But first I will also say this.  People such as Mr. Kish should not be feared, nor should we allow him to anger us because it is just such a violent reaction that he is trying to evoke.  It would only serve to support his cause. Instead we should forget about him because it is obviously not him that is going to solve the problem he speaks of. Wasting energy on or against his behalf would be counterproductive to all involved.

you guys dont get it .  its a joke.    they are gun nuts and they banned and restricted firearms in canada bassed on how they look and operate.   so hes using banning exotic cars as another stupid example of banning something on how they look and operate.  like saying we should ban lakes and open water because 10 000 people die a year from drowning.  cant believe you cant see this.

a single shot shotgun will kill someone just as much as ak47.      a neon will kill someone just as much as a ferrari.     thats whats hes trying to say.     ban the people not the tool.

That’s not fair.  It’s hard to tell that the guy is talking about fire arms until you go back and do some investigating to see where the link is linked from.  I didn’t go back and check this until you just pointed it out.  You must admit that without knowing where the link comes from it’s hard to tell where the guy is really talking about.

So the link comes somewhere off “Minnesota’s Firearm Rights Groups”.  Now I get it.

Here's a thought...  why don't we set our club up as a registered charity, and accept all the Fieros which get banned from the United States' highways as donations?

Then we could not only save the lives of innocents by doing our part to "curb irresponsible and/or criminal behavior such as speeding and driving" by helping the US of A remove these Urban Assualt Vehciles from their streets, but we could probably set up some sort of Fiero Sanctuary, and receive additional funding from the Ministry of Wildlife.
