i took out my headliner today.  can i get the sponge backed headliner at a fabric store?  i had the name of the glue  but i cant find it.  its made by 3m.   any help?
im taking the stock mirrors off and using the m3 mirrors for a civic.   im going to mount them on the small triangle of plastic in the corner of the glass above stock mirror.  how can i get that out?  i took the one  screw out but is sticking near the dew strip.  is it glued up there?
replacing speakers.  kinda funny that the front speakers are made in japan stock.  can i find replacement speakers for the ones behind the seats?  weird size.

i was thinking of replacing the gauges in the extra  pod above the hearter controls.  i have auto meter phantom  gauges for oil pressure, bat, and nitrous pressure.  all three would fit across replacing the stock two gauges.  anyone done this?

you are going to have a hard time finding speakers that are the same size as the stock ones in your car.  What we ended up doing was finding ones that fit and had good sound.  Then we made an adapter for the new speakers to sit in that would sit in the old mounting holes.  Worked well, and once the speaker grills were back in place it didn't really matter that the speakers weren't the same size as the old ones.

No idea, but any auto upholstery shop should be able to sell the fabric to you.

As for the glue to use?  Different people use different things.  I've heard of everything from generic spray trim adhesive, to contact cement, to polyurethane-based glues, to...  etc.  The only negative comment I've ever heard was that some spray trim adhesives let go with age.  YMMV.

I honestly can't remember what holds the leading edge of those pieces in.  I have a few of them in a bin at home though--if I can manage to wade through to where the bins are stashed and find the right one, I'll take a look and let you know if I see anything helpful.

4" x 6" I think.  Don't quote me on that.  Measure them, do a few searches online and/or talk to car audio retaillers.  If you can't hunt down an exact replacement, pick something which sounds nice but is physically a bit smaller, and build yourself an adapter plate.  It's not as painful as it sounds.  Smiley

well turns out if you try to put a mirror on the triangle of plastic above the stock mirror the door glass hits it when open.   that sucks it would have looked nice.

getting the fibreglass resin on monday to stregthen  the headliner.  hope the fabric store has the black headliner i want.

my gt front bumper has been soda blasted.  i pick it up monday.  hope it turned out ok.

Somebody has money to burn on his ride.  Good things can come from this.

hi aron well the soda blasting was 115 with tax.   kinda high but the paint was a mess on the front bumper skin.  we have a paint guy that paints all our show, race cars here.  i think its gonna cost 100 bucks to paint it.  im going to get the car painted bit by bit.   if it all works out the front and rear hood trunk will have a layer of carbon fibre.  looks like i will be the first to do this.

oh ya i took the owners manual for the audi.  the seats are both heated.  i have to go back and get the controls off the dash.

im having trouble figuring out the stereo amp.  it says bose on it.  just a bunch of wires comin out no rca jacks.

Well I suppose it helps to know the right people?

I’m most likely going to redo a front and rear lids, but I’m not about to fork over for carbon fibre.  I don’t need it to be that strong, it just has to stay in place and hold the weight of the wind (let’s say 100 – 200 lb).  I’ll have molds once I have the space for them.

I’d forget about that radio if I were you.  Some radio’s these days wont work outside there respective cars, and it’s not worth having some cop ask you where you got it.
