ive heard that you need to change the cradle to put a 2.8 in an 84, but then i was talking to someone else and they said all you need to do is drill some parts.

i just want to know for sure, from some of the knowledgable people on here

Only difference between 84 and 85-87 is the three extra bolt holes for the rear engine shock mount. The V6's have what looks like a small shock absorber mounted on rear side near oil filter. Can easily be drilled and a nut and bolt installed. Have done this a few times with no trouble, my 86 has an 84 frame in it. Dan

From what I have seen you know your way around a car and garage why stop at a 2.8 when there are so many better engines out there. Dan

well i think 2ml67 is right, why stop at a v6,

i think im going to save up and get a 350 in there like i have always wanted(i know its not the best choice, but its something ive always wanted)

so for now, ill throw the 4 banger back in there, and drive it for a while, then 350 in due time

anyone on here done a v-8 swap?

Helped put an Iroc 305 in one years ago, he bought the complete kit. From what I remember the only thing you really need to buy is the adapter plate and make the rest your self. Remote oil filters can be bought through speed shops cheaper, the brackets can be made as well as every thing else. All depends on how much work you want to do. Dan
