http://www.gtechprostore.com/

I’m trying to find out if this club is willing to split on a club “G-Teck” G meter.  If we can get about 15 people then it’ll cost about $30 each with shipping and exchange.  That’s not bad for a good tuning tool.

I think there are enough people in this club that could use a tune-up.

Alternately I could just by it and rent it out for $15 each use.  It doesn’t make much difference to me.

I’m trying to gauge the interest in this venture.  If people could respond wheather they are interested or not, and for which option.  If I get enough responses it’s a done deal.  But make sure you post your name if you want option #1 because I'll be coming after you for money.

There will be some restrictions depending on the distance from Ottawa (Dan is exempt from restrictions).

Please vote only once

i guess I don't know enough about these things; I looked at the website and it doesn't help too much either.  Is it only for accel'n?  I assume it will measure stopping somehow too?  Maybe you could clarify what it really can do; the write up is kinda short.
Which one are you talking about?  The Pro Comp or the Pro?

And for me, using something like that is a ways off anyway, but I thought I would see what it is about.

And
the big CRITICAL question........  if everyone goes in on it,............
who gets the STICKERS!?!?!!? Grin

It will measure acceleration, in whatever increments you want, first 60 feet, ¼ mile 1/8 mile, 0-100 km/h.

Deceleration is whatever increments you want.

Side acceleration, or lateral G’s.

It can also estimate hp given vehicle weight, and do a few extra things.

This one also has a screen so that you can view the data in real time.  That parts just cool.

And for me, using something like that is a ways off anyway, but I thought I would see what it is about.

It will be off but not by much.  The acceleration and deceleration it will be off by only a minute amount.  Lets say less than one percent.  The hp may be of by something like 5%.  But what you will be able to tell is the difference between one run and another.  To explain; there may be some characteristics about your car that makes the meter off by a certain percent, but every run it will be off by the same percent in the same direction.  Therefore making one run to another very comparable.

I'm not looking for people that are willing to use it right away, just people that are willing to use it period.

Ive got one of the older ones.. it doesnt have the nice graphic display, but if anyone wants to use it, I could let Dan bring it up to a meeting or something and you could all give the older one a shot, just give me a shout.. I used it once.

later; Rob

Just make sure you keep it in the car, where those pesky headlight doors can't hit it.   Grin

Nice!  But the problem with me is that I have so little time to do that sort of thing.  But I will take you up on this as soon as I can.
