good evening,

I had my clutch replaced last october and slave and master cylinder replaced in may and today I think I still am having problems.  There is a strange noise when I press on the clutch pedal (like a faint blower fan in back) and I have put the car in nutral while keeping the clutch down and when I gas it more gas the sound gets louder.  I did go in a big puddle of water on thrusday.....dont think it would of caused this though....but who knows...This better not be that damn through out bearing...I dont want to pay 600$ to replace a 10$ part AGAIN......anybody know what this could be?

Could be the throw out bearing or bent fingers on the clutch either way sounds like it has to come apart to check and see whats wrong. It costs that much because its about the same amount of work as changing the whole clutch assy just to change that bearing. Isn't it something you could do yourself or get someone in the club to do it cheaper after all its only about a six hour job. I usually only charge around $400 to do a clutch change but I am a long way from Ottawa. Dan

yeah, thats what I'm thinking it is now.  The second I start pressing on the clutch pedal is starts doing a sound in the back.  The car drives fine though, the car shifts perfectly just like the day I had it replaced.  It would be great if someone in the area could help me out, but free time is prob an issue to most people in the area.  My next question is how long can I drive the car like this.....it doesnt affect anything driving, but how long does a bearing lasts for when it starts to make noise?  is there any way of lubricating it without taking it appart....or it this just hopeless.
thanks for your input as always.

I just noticed that in the online service manual in the clutch section this important point.
http://www.geocities.com/motorcity/garage/5007/fiero_osg/clutch-bushings.html

7. release bearing rattles. (Release bearing may normally make a slight noise when pedal depressed but stop when pedal released)

it says its normal, so am I worrying for nothing here?
