Could anyone who has a 85-86 2.5 please check the sensor at the base of the thermostat housing and tell me whether theirs has a plastic shroud surrounding it or not?

I know the 84's have them, but I can't remember if on the later model engines the shroud is missing by intent, or in our case by accident.  Huh

Is it sensor that goes into the round bottom part of the housing? If this is what you are looking at mine does not have a shroud. Kevin

The shroud was to help keep it from falling off on the 84's and 85's. 86 up used a different clipping type two pin connector. by changing the plug you can use either but if you want to buy a new sensor most places only carry the 86 up one. Dan
