Thought #1. What about the possibility of sending a notification
each time a thread is replied to, instead of only for the first reply then no more until the user logs in and visits that thread?
At least that way a user could ignore a reply notification from whomever they wanted, but still receive notices for later replies.
Thought #2. Is there any kind of "ignore user" option available? Back when dial-up BBSs were popular (yes, I'm old), I maintained a "twit file" with my message reader. Basically anyone whom I identified as a twit was added to this file, and the reader would then hide any messages from them. I would still see that user XYZ posted a message in the overall sequence of the thread, but the
content of that user's message was suppressed.
Not sure what the forum software allows and what it doesn't, so I'm just tossing out ideas...
