...too good to be true fuel-saving device?
Found it while searching for something else.
Clicky
.
It
appears
to be a gizmo which uses electrolysis to separate water, and feed the hydrogen in to a vehicle's fuel system for alleged increased distance-per-tank.
What makes me suspicious though, is a) that the web page reads like a standard, baffle-'em-with-bs infomercial, and b) contains no empiracle data to back up its claims. Just the expected "customer testimonials".

It’s not exactly as advertised. It’s atomised water injection, and it does work but it also robs power. Been around for 30 years or so.

I thought that water injection was suppose to cool the intake temperature down and give you more hp?

Not exactly. Water injection is used to make use of some of the wasted heat energy. Converts it to steam adding pressure to the piston. It’ll give you extra miles but you won’t get the same bang, because the process takes longer. It’s more efficient but not as convenient. Probably the same reason why so few people dive diesel. (more expensive to buy, not as much power…deadly combination for the sales guy).

More than anything else, the complaints I hear about diesel from commuter-type drivers are that it stinks, and that the engines are noisy/sound funny. Price & power seem to be secondary.
Gotta admit though that I like the 60mpg (imperial gallon) that we get from the Bug, and the relative stability of diesel pump prices vs. that of the yo-yoing gasoline market. It was ~99c/L before Mother Nature did her happy dance down south, it was ~99c/L when gasoline was hitting $1.15+, it's ~99c/L now.
Having a dinky little 4cyl hit its peak torque at 2k rpm is mildly amusing too.
....but damn straight they're gutless. A 20 year old Iron Duke running on three cylinders could run away from this thing without breaking in to a sweat.

The stability of the diesel fuel market has more to do with the economy. The fuel companies have guarantied the price of diesel so that the transportation industry doesn’t go tits up. It almost did when fuel prices started to rise way back.
Truckers started to go out of buisness, they went on strike, then a solution was found. Moral of the stork, is drive what the truckers drive, they will fight for your savings.

Anyone else notice actual mileage going down the crapper with the slight down trend of fuel prices lately? I've talked with a few other people and its the same I hear over the past few days now. Mess with the fuel mix, make people think the price is really going down, they buy more, get less mpg, gas companies make even more money....sounds interesting.

I see that the price of gas was down to 85.7 in Bells Corners but the price of diesel stayed at 99.8

maybe it has something to do with the weather. My mileage always goes down in the winter.
People let their cars idle more (usually to warm them up)
They start to use the heat which draws an extra horse or two in electricity
Gas companies can't fidle with the mixture because it would change the octane. However they can refine the mix to make sure you are getting no more than they need to give you (increase their tolerances).

I know that the stations change the content of the diesel fuel 2 times a year.
