Now considering that I am basically completely computer illiterate just how hard is it and how much would it cost. I keep getting e-mails from people asking about doing engine swaps. They almost all want to know if I have a web site to show my work so I am considering doing such a thing. Any help or advice much appreciated. Please also keep in mind that I am on very slow dial up with AOL if that matters. Dan

Check out my sites:

www.angelfire.com/mb/HouseboatsNorthern  and

http://www.angelfire.com/mb/firearminstructors/

Both are pretty simple to set up.
I will show you when I come down next, when you show me how to put on an air filter  Roll Eyes

Hi Dan

I've done a few web site and I can do yours if you want  (if you are not on a big rush, I have to finish my engine (complete rebuild), so you can do my swap in January).

I have a friend that host for me (very cheap)..

this is the web site I did....

www.pourvoiriegillies.com
www.crfd-sicr.com
www.azoteliquide.com/fiero  (not fully completed yet)

hey Dan; that sounds pretty cool;
just as some info for any prospective 'helpers' - do you have any plans for switching FROM dial up to something a bit faster (assuming it is available in any way?)

I expect that is a key item here.

You prob can get a satellite based system (ie Bell ExpressVu for one) that will let you download (to your computer) at a pretty good rate; you can't UPload (going out FROM your computer) on that of course but it is something.

Anyway, if you DO, I will be among the first to check it out and pass it along to people.
I expect you already know the downside of it, tho' - you will start (keep?) getting ridiculous questions from people like me asking if you can do their swap in your "spare time"  Cheesy ) and thus do it for CHEAP.........   and other such nutso stuff....

But I am sure you know that already.......
Sounds like a good idea tho'!
Hope you do it.

Unfortunately where I live dial up is all that is available, no cable in the county. Wireless is supposed to be available but they want way too much as far as I am concerned so unless I move which I have no plans on doing I am stuck with slow dial up. Was thinking on my next swap I would get a good digital camera and take lots of pictures fo each stage as I go along, then do a indepth write up on the swap. Dan

Dan:  I have access to a T1 line (the fastest? you can get).  Evil We can do up a page or 2 when I am down there and I can upload it when I get back to Ottawa.

Put some pictures up on a host site would appreciate opinions on which photos to use for a web site or if more are needed. www.photosled.com/showgallery.php/cat/631
