Where to go to fix up a fiero

Hello all, I am new to this forum, and recently bought a 1986 Fiero.  I am not much of a car person and don't know a whole lot about cars, but I am wanting to learn. 

I am wondering what garages/mechanics everyone here would recommend that could help me out, fix it up, get it safetied and on the road.

It needs a couple of things done to get it road worthy.  Mainly the whole breaking system needs to be fixed/replaced.  Along with some other things: fan belt needs to be replaced, ignition problems (the battery is dead, and it won't even tun over with a booster).  It was taken to Turpin to be safetied, by the past owner (a friend I got it off of), and I am told their prices are over priced.

Ask questions, describe a problem...  people here will gladly help you troubleshoot it, and give you tips on making the repair yourself.

If you're near the west end (and then some), check out Tim's Service Center in Carleton Place.  It ain't the cleanest place in the world, but the people there are top notch.
