most of you probably dont remember me,....

but my car got hit(silver 86 notchie) about a year ago and i parted out my withe 84 and sold some parts to members.  well after my fiero got hit R.I.P.  i stoped thinking about cars, g2'swent on hold, and started getting hocked on a video game from march til last week.  well two days ago my brother calls me up and says,''do you remeber that fiero i bought a while back and stored it at my GF's house (now his x)... well i need it to go, and i'm too lazy and focused on girls right now,..... so..... you want it?''
yeah thats right, he's giving me the fiero

getting it tomorrow all i need to pay is the towtruck from west to east ottawa. 


bad thing about the car: bro wants rims and tyres
                                       engine cought fire a while back
                                       it's been sleeping for close to 5 years i think
                                       no ownerships
                                       brakes need to be replaced
                                       decklid screwed from the flames
                                       didnt check the chassis yet for rust


good things: aerobody complete and installed
                     the engine is bad :)muahaha now i have an excuse for a swap
                     leaves me time to get my licence. 
                     i forgot to give my new brakes the white fiero i parted out to a guy for 300$ (calibers and roters) are still in my room in plastic bags
                     I still have dan's black decklid i bought last year
                     No emissions needed and i easy for safety check


well, im back to ottawafiero now and happy about it.  thx fierobuzz for the link   i  can say i miss you guys .   Dan. i need to talk to u about the swap (if u dont reconize me, well i bought some parts from you including the decklid and rear bumper, you met my dad, remember?)   

well im glad to be back and any tips on the fiero? i still remember alot from fieros and i never stopped pointing them out to everyne when i saw one on the streets.

Welcome back and yes I remember meeting your dad, I have lots of parts here in my storage sheds if you ever get a chance to make the trip you will most likely find what you need. If its a 3800Sc series II you are considering I have a harness for sale in the parts section. Either way this is a good club and you should have no problem getting help here. Dan

thx man, do you have a fiero store or somthing?  i'll probably make a trip there for parts and go around to do wreckerruns while being there some time after the snow is gone (beofre end of school year...   i'm gonna need most of the interior parts.  everything for a engine conversion.  is it hard to make the needed harness from the 3800SC harness?

BTW i had some fun while freezing today with my it.  i locked the only set of keys in the car.  good thing the aftermarket sunroof has flat-head screws sticking out.... yeah i whent in by the sunroof headfirst lol.

also is it hard to do the 3800SC swap? for a beginner?... i'll probably get my mechanic teacher to let me use one of the lifts in the shop at school to install the engine that's going in.  i'm still not sure what engine to put, im sorta lookign for fuel economy aswell as a power, hows the 3800SC for fuel economy?

PS: forgot to metion she has 52 264 kms on her   she was stored for almost all her life and has almost no rust compared to my other ones.

We had a debate about that recently here but the bottom line is that the 3.8 and auto trans are a very fuel effient cobination.  Expect over 30 gpm, how much over is what has been the debate (between 34 and 45 I think).  Personally I think anything over 34 is on the high side but some people here are recording that at the pumps so who am I to argue.

I just made it back from Cuba. 
As a series 11 owner I am destressed if I am getting less than 34 mpg (cdn) I have gotten less, but only if my foot gets a little heavy around town.

The 3800N/A would also be good on fuel for the same reasons the 3800SC is, the 4speed outo tranny and sequential fuel injection. If you go with the non super charged (N/A) engine it can not be upgraded to a super charged engine they are two very different engines. The 3800N/A and the 3800SC engine swaps are basically the same amount of work both require new mounts, and major rewiring to be done. Dan

ok.  I thought it over and want a 3800 SC.  and i set myself a deadline of around june for it being on the road.  howmuch is that harness, and howmuch am i looking at for a good 3800SC and what are the things i need to watchout for? i'm going to start looking for an engine but probably wont start the swap until the snow is gone. 

I tested the power today, with a power-pack hooked up where the battery hooks-up, and i have no lights or nothing, so i think i have some electricity problems too.  The engine has cought fire and i think it took out some power plugs or something.

If the car caught on fire I would replace all the wiring, sounds like a lot of work but worth it in my opinion.
As for 3800SC's from the wreckers the cost varies by the mileage and which wreckers you deal with. One near me gets nice low mileage ones but cost is very high. I know of two 3800SC's right now one is in Peterborough auto wreckers they want $850 for it, it is out of a 97 GTP and the mileage is 240,000KM. Browns auto wreckers near Hastings Ont has one out of a 96 Bonneville SSEi, they want $800 for it and it has 276,000KM on it. If you look you can probably find one closer to you, I usually try and stay below 100,000KM when I do swaps but those engines cost a lot more. Dan

cool. i'm now looking for an engine, a little more local.  ah so you used a tracker to lift ur engine nice.  when i parted out my white fiero i used a tree and a hand winch.  i think i'll do the same for this one, and maybe make a stand to go over the fiero to lift it, once i get my garage . 

i'm waiting for a bit warmer day to look in more deatails for the engine bay cus i get a bairley an hour of light after school and i already frooze my hands a few times too much : /

thx guys.  i'll try to figure out all i need and gather all the parts before starting.
