Yes the bottom part of the trunk has to go to run that muffler. This would be a good time to put a GT style rear bumper back on when I put it all back together. It won't be blue but it will allow for proper running of dual exhaust. If not I can just run the tail pipes a little lower and point them down to help keep the heat off of the bumper.
This is going to be one nice safe Fiero when its done, I am welding new metal over all the holes I found in the trunk and wheel wells as well as replacing badly rusted brake lines and front flex lines as one of the flex lines cracked open when I took the caliper off to remove the cradle. Good thing I have lots of Fieo parts laying around looking for some where to go. Dan

May as well put that bumper on please.   Can the pipes be angled upwards like they are in the logo at the top of this page, or is that kind of cheesy in reality?

It's amazing I haven't been killed in the blue thingy.  I told everyone that Mechanic #1 did tighten the brake bleed valves, right?

Cheers, Derek

Lets see here... new rear bumper.  Then you'll need a new front bumper, the rest of the GT trim on the sides, some hood vents and a decklid scoop. (I've got the spoiler covered for you, of course Wink)  Plus a paint job.  Might as well throw in some Mr. Mikes seats, assorted gauges, a window tint and a 6-speed tranny swap too while you're at it.

I pity your bank balance Smiley

Shhhhhhh!!!!!   My wife might read this!   Tongue

Won't a few cans of spray paint do the trick?   Maybe you could paint that snow shovel of yours and bring it with you to the June 3rd GTG (my birthday)...or are people in Northern Ontario wanting it back?   Cheesy

Are you in Toronto now at your new job?

I have a pair of DTM tips like this if you are interested.  I would trade for a couple of  very good GP or whatever oval tips.

I can put almost any tip on as long as it fits in the area cut out on the bumber. Having a hard time getting a hold of the local speed shop it seems they moved the business to their home and no one ever wants to answer the phone. Is there a speed shop in Kingston thats any good. If so I could give you the part numbers and you could get them there. Dan

Found the part numbers if you can get them I will drive up to pick them up once they come in. The filter is a K&N part number KNRF1023. The muffler is a Magnaflow part number 12158 its a 5"X8" oval with one 2.5" i/p and two 2.5" o/p's its over all length is 20" with a body length of 14"s. I used to use Camaro replacement mufflers but find this one being 4" shorter is a better fitting one and is only slightly louder. Dan

Okay, I posted on RL and these are the replies I got:

Stalker Performance:
12158    139.99  retail  yours at 119.99
KNRF1023       yours at 59.99

and the following as well

Mike at No Limits Auto Parts:
My normal pricing on the Magnaflow is $119.00, avalability is not a problem.
But I am setting up a group buy on magnaflow on the OQCGP.com board as we speak, as long as I have 10 unit's total sold, I can get the muffler down to $89.00.

K&N RF1023 is $53.00.If we are doing a few, should be able to knock that down a bit more.

Anytime you can organize a couple people buying from the same manufacturer, I can usually setup a bigger discount.
Send me a pm with a complete list, quantity and part number's, and I'll see what I can do for pricing, incase the group buy does not go through from the other board.

Mike

Mike is a really nice guy and usually has excellent pricing.  They also have a machine shop and can do most fabrication work.

How do I go about ordering these parts (especially the muffler for a group purchase?).

I'll measure them and get a pic.  They're pretty big but do look okay in the openings.

Mike is at No Limits Auto Parts
1417-C Cyrville Rd
Ottawa, ON

(613) 748-7278

He's probably still there if you give him a shout for the details. I'll need to get one as well.  If you are going to run a cat, he can get a cheap universal for you.

It looks like the Grand Prix group buy is open till 20 June.  I don't know if that means no order till then or not.

You might as well sign on the GP board as well.  Good info for the motor if nothing else.  It is entertaining.   Afro

Inlet looks just under 2.5, but they can be cut and welded at the point where they are 2.5"

Outlets are each 3.5" o.d.  They are fairly big but you'll have the grunt to back up the claim to power.   Roll Eyes

I know for the filter last one I got cost $73.60 including all taxes. The muffler is also available through CND tire but they are more expensive and take weeks to get. Indypacecar or what ever sean's name here is also is in need of a K&N filter maybe the two together will get the price down a bit. Dan
