Digital Recording of TV Show

My FAVOURITE television show - 24 - starts a brand new day ("season" to non-viewers of the show) on January 14th and 15th (2 night, 4 hour premiere).   

However....I'm going to be out of the country from January 11 - 27 and won't be able to watch it.  I could use the VCR to tape it, but frankly, the quality of the taped version sucks on our old VCR.

Does anybody have the capability of doing a dvd recording of the January 14 and 15 shows, as well as the other hours ("episodes" for non-viewers  ) so I don't miss any of the action?   I could try to bring back some haggis for whoever records it for me.  lol
