I read some of that stuff.   My head hurts.

It's odd that they claim all this warming is happening in the last 50 to 100 years.  35 years ago the big rage and debate was over global cooling.  Something had to be done because another ice age was happening.

You's have to be retarded (or evidently a Liberal, NDP or Bloc politian) to think that closing a half dozen coal power plants while China builds 500 more is going to make a dent anywhere.

Not to mention sending billions (21 billion from Europe in 2006) to China, India and other countries which have not agreed to Kyoto, and are the worst polluters will do anything but destroy the economy of the west.

I have to recall that scientists (and ecologists) tend to fvck things up when left to their own devices.  No seals hunted means now no fish left to catch.  They wouldn't spray for spruce bud worm in Cape Breton (Elizabeth May is the culprit here) and now there is no source of pulpwood as the worms have eaten it all.

BTW don't drive your car.  They said oil reserves would be exhausted in the 1990's. And since they are always right there is no more oil left.

Other favourites:

Sea level will rise by 7 meters    Roll Eyes

The polar ice in Antactica is melting because the temperature is going to rise by 2*C.  From an average of about -42 F  to -40 F   Grin  Not to mention scientists in Antarctica say the temp is dropping there, not rising.

Sure climate is changing....it always has before. But it sure isn't all man's fault and if they think we can control the weather when they can't even predict it 2 days in advance is a bit much.

The climate has always been changing, whether or not there were humans driving automobiles or emitting carbon gasses.  I don't buy into the whole "blame humans for global warming" to the extent that humans are being blamed.  Yeah, we should and could do more to better preserve the planet, but I'm so sick of the whole "global warming" junk.

Oh...and to all those Canadians who say the government should do more to preserve the climate:  What are you doing?!  A recent survey showed that Canadians rank "eco friendly" cars as being near the bottom of the list when it comes determining factors when purchasing a new car.

And Kyoto...well...what a crock.  The federal Liberals entered Canada into an internationally binding legal agreement in an area of policy - the environment - that is actually a provincial jurisdiction.  Yo!  Stick to the areas you have legitimate control over and maybe you'll have a chance of success (not that it doesn't stop them from trying to fiddle with health care and education!).

Time this country got back to the basics and time Canadians stopped with the navel gazing and smugly acting as though they are somehow better than the rest of the world (I really, REALLY hate the anti-American sentiment).  Canadians - not the federal government - are some of the biggest polluters.  Don't blame the polliticians folks:  Look in the mirror!

Ok.  Gary, you got me going on this one.  Time to jump in my SUV and take a drive.

Cheers, Derek

Something to put a pause-to-think-moment to all the hype on the power nations political table.

We know too little to know too much.

Archaeological finds that predate Columbus' so-called "discovery", to him it was rather a kick in the ass when he didn't find ancient treasure.  Links all over the world in stone, hard fact, yet we don't and probably won't rewrite history as is still being taught today.

Sometime common logic is the best answer.

Rant on, the day is young and time is plentiful!
