We're probably going to pull the 85 out from under State Farm's umbrella this year, and move it to an insurance co. which won't poop its pants over non-OEM spec rubber, modified brakes, ....

Any recommendations on appraisal shops?  Aaron didn't you use a place called "Grandpa's" or something like that?   Huh

I have heard the some ins companies will not accept Grandpa's Garage appraisals. That may be for huge dollar cars, but you should check with the company who they recommend/accept first.

If the appraisal is just done due to age, most required ones are a simple photo session/ appraisal to prove that the car is safe and as represented.  The really detailed ones are more for a full resto or rod that will be insured for 100k.

That's about all I'm looking for, plus a fair representation of its value.  All S.F. sees is a 85 Fiero--the dollar value of any comopnent which is not a 23 year old Pontiac matters nothing to them.

...not to mention that that their newsletters of late have included overtones of denial of accident coverage due to any "performance" or "handling" modifications.

Have records of money you spent.  He will take that into consideration.

I have used a guy for years to have my own and other customers fiero appraised. I'll get his number when I go into work today, he'll come out to where the car is and he's very familiar with the car. He's very professional and I think reasonably priced. His name is Norm Mort and the number to call is 613-399-3608 give it a try and let me know if it works out.
