The car still at the paint shop.
So I am working on other things put aside last winter like the "adjustable coil-over struts"
Few months ago I bought a pair of Gabriel struts at a bargain price so I decided to build my own "coil-over" to replace the Chapman at the back of the Sombral.
First thing to do is to "clean" the shock absorber, so I removed everything useless for the Fiero set-up.

I bought a set off 88 strut tops on eBay.
Next step is to buy the adjusters sleeves, springs and other hardware.
I finally choose a pair of front Ford Mustang coil over conversion kits.
The shock OD is 2 1/16, the sleeves are 2 1/4 ID, 7 1/2 high and made to support 2 1/2 springs.
The springs are 12x250
They are on their way

Here they are.
Dont have time for the final assembly but here is a sneak peek.
I also bought a new pair of upper strut mounts on PFF.

I also visited the body shop to pick-up some parts and look at the progress.
The car will be ready next week. Because it is a school, they will not have enough time to polish the paint. I have been told that it is a required step when painting polyurethane.
I will reassemble the car and have it polish after.

It looks like the boot is too tight. It won't last long like that. Have you found something smaller.....because I have to do the same thing?

Yes the boots are too tight. I installed them just because I had them. I dont think they are required.
They should not have been larger than 2 inches and they are 2 1/2.

Sweet!
Fiero's look so much better with good paint.
